China Petroleum Network News (Correspondent Yi Xinbin and Correspondent Zhai Zhenyu) Reporters learned from the shale gas construction site in Sichuan in early August that the comparative tests of new technologies such as high-density crack completion, quartz sand replacing ceramsite, fluid control and sand addition carried out by the China Petroleum Exploration and Development Research Institute on YS112H4 and H5 platforms in Zhaotong Shale Gas Demonstration Zone were successful. The total daily gas production of the three wells on H4 platform is 700000 cubic meters, of which the YS112H4-1 well modified by new technology has a daily gas production of more than 340000 cubic meters, far exceeding the conventional technology comparison wells on the same platform, and also refreshing the highest single well production in Zijinba block in the demonstration area.
News from China Petroleum Network(Correspondent Yi Xinbin and Correspondent Zhai Zhenyu) The reporter learned from the shale gas construction site in Sichuan in early August that the comparative tests of new technologies such as high-density crack completion, quartz sand replacing ceramsite, fluid control and sand addition carried out by the PetroChina Research Institute on YS112H4 and H5 platforms in Zhaotong Shale Gas Demonstration Zone were successful. The total daily gas production of the three wells on H4 platform is 700000 cubic meters, of which the YS112H4-1 well modified by new technology has a daily gas production of more than 340000 cubic meters, far exceeding the conventional technology comparison wells on the same platform, and also setting a new record for the highest single well production in Zijinba block in the demonstration area.
Shale gas is a new growth pole of oil and gas in China. According to the group's set target, shale gas production will reach 12 billion cubic meters by 2020. In order to achieve this goal, we must vigorously carry out independent research and development and testing of new fracturing technologies to increase production, reduce costs, and improve the overall exploration and development benefits. For this reason, on the YS112H4 and H5 new technology key test platforms uniformly deployed by the Exploration and Production Branch, the Exploration Institute provided fracturing scheme design and on-site technical services for the oil field, creatively reducing the cluster spacing from the previous average of 19 meters to 5.5 meters, increasing the number of fracturing clusters from the average of 82 clusters per well to 309 clusters, and increasing the sand addition strength from 1.8 tons/meter to 3.18 tons/meter, the record of single-stage sand addition strength has been increased from 4.58 tons/m to 4.93 tons/m, creating a number of new records for shale gas well fracturing, such as the smallest cluster spacing, the largest number of clusters in a single well and the largest sand addition strength.
In recent years, domestic shale gas has entered the stage of large-scale development, reservoir reconstruction technology has made some progress, the length of fracturing section has gradually become shorter, and the sand addition intensity has increased year by year. However, compared with the world's successful practices, there are still problems such as fewer single-stage perforation clusters (3 clusters), larger cluster spacing (19 meters), low sand strength (1.8 tons/meter), and high cost of fracturing materials (ceramsite accounts for about 70%). In order to break through the difficult production of single well and the high cost of fracturing materials, after a large number of experiments and theoretical research, the concept of shale gas fracturing technology such as high-density fracture completion and quartz sand instead of ceramic particles is put forward. In order to further promote the landing of the fracturing technology concept, the Exploration Institute cooperated with Zhejiang Oilfield to formulate targeted technical measures such as multiple clusters (5, 7 and 11 clusters) in the section, continuous sand addition with slick water, and increasing the sand proportion of 70/140 mesh quartz in view of the challenges such as undeveloped natural fractures, large difference in horizontal two-direction principal stress (17~19 MPa), and faults between wells. The Exploration Institute has organized a number of professional expert teams covering fracturing design, inclinometer monitoring, rock mechanics, liquid and proppant materials, etc., to achieve an organic linkage between indoor consultant guidance and on-site decision-making and implementation. The on-site implementation team adhered to the "797" work system of starting at 7: 00 a.m., ending at 9: 00 p.m. and 7 days a week, which effectively ensured the efficient implementation of fracturing operations.
After listening to a report on the progress of the construction on site, the relevant person in charge of the Exploration and Production Branch said, "The successful implementation of this new technology breaks the constraints of the inherent concept, proves the feasibility of the new concept of fracturing technology, and proves the direction for the development of shale gas. The Exploration Institute has played an important role in the innovation concept and on-site implementation."
The successful implementation of the new technology has created conditions for the progress of shale gas fracturing technology. The Exploration Institute will subsequently promote the application of new technologies in other shale gas demonstration areas and tight oil and gas areas, and has now entered the stage of well selection.
