In foreign countries, the use of water-in-oil emulsion polyacrylamide is very common, and it has the potential to replace dry powder products, which is mainly related to the maturity of the technology. In foreign industries, water-in-oil inverse emulsion polymerization is generally used to synthesize polyacrylamide internal compounds, but in China, the technology is still in the promotion stage. Many domestic polyacrylamide manufacturers have mastered the production technology, and related manufactured products have been introduced to the market and have achieved great repercussions. In addition to producing traditional PAM dry powder polymers, the company is also actively engaged in the research and development and production of water-in-oil emulsion polyacrylamide. We find that inverse emulsion polymerization has many advantages compared with solution polymerization. The most significant characteristics are high polymerization rate. The obtained latex can make the polymer quickly soluble in water by adjusting the PH value of the system or adding emulsifiers, which is more convenient than powder products, these characteristics will also accelerate the popularity of emulsion polymers in the end-use markets.
